Spring New Student Orientation

Spring New Student Orientation is designed for incoming freshmen and transfer students starting at AU during the spring semester. Families are welcome, and attendance is highly encouraged to help students begin their AU journey successfully.

Spring orientation will take place on Friday, January 9, 2026, in Perry Theatre.

Registration is now open! Log in with the same email and password used when applying to AU. Need help registering? Email your admission counselor or admission@aurora.edu. All other questions regarding orientation can be sent to orientation@aurora.edu.

8–9 a.m.  |  Check-In
Take your ID photo, pick up your parking pass, and finish any outstanding items for the start of the spring semester.

9–9:10 a.m.  |  Welcome

9:10–9:30 a.m.  |  The Academic Planning Partnership
Learn about important academic dates, academic alerts, advisor support, meeting with staff, and how transfer students can use their degree audit.

9:30–10 a.m.  |  Engage with the Campus Community and Designing Your Future
Explore skills infusion, internships, on-campus jobs, and academic success plans. Learn how to get involved on campus and what being involved looks like at AU.

10–10:10 a.m.  |  Break
Enjoy light refreshments and a small break.

10:10–10:30 a.m.  |  Being a Responsible Spartan
Understand AU’s A-Book, Title IX, academic integrity, safety and security, parking, IDs, and emergency notifications.

10:30–10:45 a.m.  |  Spartan Survival Squad
Meet the Academic Support Center and Counseling Center teams.

10:45–11 a.m.  |  Faculty Communication
Learn how to communicate effectively with faculty and build academic relationships.

11–11:15 a.m.  |  Navigating Your AU Financial Journey
Financial Aid and Student Accounts will review payment processes and key information you'll need to know for the semester.

11:15–11:40 a.m.  |  AU Panel (English and Spanish)
Have your questions answered by faculty, staff, and students.

11:40 a.m.–12:30 p.m.  |  Lunch
