Theatre Scholarships

Aurora University offers theatre scholarships, ranging from $500 to $5,000, based on your audition and a conversation with our faculty. Theatre scholarships supplement any academic merit scholarships or need-based aid you already receive.

Who can apply

Any student planning to enroll at Aurora University in a fall semester can apply. You don’t need to declare a theatre minor to qualify. If you have strong performance or technical skills (acting, singing, stage management, design, sound, lighting, and more), we want to meet you.

How it works

1. You’ll submit your video audition or portfolio online. The AU Theatre Scholarship Packet has all the details about what to include, as well as important dates and requirements. Submit your scholarship application.
2. We’ll review your submission. Priority review will be given to applicants who submit before Friday, January 22, 2027.
3. You’ll interview with faculty. We will reach out to schedule a short interview to get to know you and determine if you are a good fit.
4. We’ll let you know. After your interview, our faculty will contact you about what kind of theatre scholarships you may be eligible for.

What to know

• Your scholarship is renewable each year for up to four years.
• Scholarship and additional gift assistance, such as need-based grants, cannot exceed the overall cost of tuition. If you are awarded need-based monies, your aid will be reduced by any amount over the actual cost of your education at AU.
