Who is eligible to participate in the Spring ceremonies on the Aurora campus?
The ceremonies will honor spring and summer 2024 graduation candidates.

Do I need to complete the Graduation Application in Self-Service?
Yes. All graduation candidates are required to complete the Graduation Application regardless of participation in the ceremony by the February 23 deadline.

How do I order my cap and gown?
You can order your cap and gown by visiting the Herff Jones website. The cap and gown are required to participate in the ceremony. The deadline to place your order is Friday, February 23.

When will I receive my cap and gown?
Cap and Gown Days are March 26–27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Crimi Atrium located in the Institute for Collaboration. If you are unable to attend, there will be a shipping option when placing your order.

How will I receive my Latin honor cords?
Eligible candidates will receive their honor cords at Cap and Gown Days on March 26–27 in Crimi Atrium located in the Institute for Collaboration. If you cannot attend and chose to have your regalia shipped to your home, you will pick up your cords when you check in at commencement.

Undergraduates completing their course of study with a minimum of 30 semester hours earned at Aurora University are eligible to graduate with academic honors. Graduation honors require the following cumulative grade-point average:

  • Summa Cum Laude: 3.90 to 4.00
  • Magna Cum Laude: 3.75 to 3.899
  • Cum Laude: 3.50 to 3.749

How will I receive my Gold Ivy Leaf medallion?
Eligible candidates will receive an invitation to attend Honors Convocation in mid-March. The ceremony will be held on Friday, April 12.

How will I receive my electronic tickets for guests?
Each participating graduation candidate will receive an email from commencement@aurora.edu on Friday, March 22, with instructions on how to access their guest tickets. Each participant will receive 6 guest tickets.

Will there be a livestream of the ceremony?
The commencement ceremony will be streamed on the Aurora University website the day of and available for replay after.

How do I provide name pronunciation guidance for my ceremony name?
In the Graduation Application, you will have the opportunity to submit name pronunciation guidance. Please click here for guidance.
