What is Mumps?

Mumps is a viral infection that is characterized by swelling and tenderness of one or more of the salivary glands.

If you have been vaccinated against mumps, your risk of getting mumps is very low.

However, it is important to be aware of the signs and symptoms of mumps, because you can still contract mumps, regardless of age or vaccination status.
