NOTE: This program is based on the assumption that students graduated from an accredited BSW program within the past five years and have been granted 27 semester hours of credit toward the MSW degree. If less than 27 hrs of advanced credit were granted the degree plan will require additional course work.

Concentration: Students will select a concentration for the advanced year of the curriculum. Concentrations are: 1) Clinical Practice; or, 2) Management & Community Practice. Students will enroll in the sections of Social Work Practice III & IV and Advanced Social Policy that correspond with their concentration.

School Social Work Sequence:
STUDENTS MUST:

  1. Take and pass the Illinois Basic Skills Exam before beginning Fall semester;
  2. Complete SWK 5610: Survey of the Exceptional Child before Fall semester (elective course)
  3. Enroll in SWK 6410 & 6420: School Social Work: Policy & Practice I, II in fall & spring (electives)
