Transfer Programs:
The BSW program welcomes applicants that have completed Associate of
Arts or Associate of Science degrees at community colleges as well as
students who have earned close to 60 semester hours of college credit
whether at a community college or at another four-year college. Transfer
students need to:
- meet the BSW program's admission requirements
- submit the BSW application materials
- and meet with Dr. Considine, Associate Director/BSW Program Director, for an admission interview
Don't Wonder - Just Call
Students with questions about the BSW admissions process are
encouraged to contact the Associate Director/BSW Program Director at any time either by phone:
630-844-7842 or by e-mail dconsidi@aurora.edu.
The Admission Process
Transfer students need to be accepted for admission to the university
before applying for formal acceptance into the BSW program. Students
can request an application form for Aurora University by calling the
admissions office at 630-844-5533 or by applying
on-line. Incoming transfer students must meet the university's
admission requirements. Transfer students will be asked to declare
their interest in obtaining a BSW degree at the time they are accepted
by the University for admission. Once accepted into the university,
students will be sent a BSW admissions application. This application
can also be obtained by calling the BSW program office at 630-844-6516
or by e-mailing requests to Dr. Donette Considine, dconsidi@aurora.edu.
Submission of BSW Application Materials
The BSW Application materials consist of an application form,
a background profile, and a written mini-autobiography. These materials
are submitted to:
Dr. Donette Considine
Aurora University
School of Social Work
347 S. Gladstone
Aurora, Illinois 60506
Admission packets can be submitted anytime during the academic year prior
to beginning the BSW program in the fall term. Transfer students submit
this packet as soon as they have been accepted for admission into the
University.
Admissions Interview
After submission of the BSW Admission Packet to the School of
Social Work, applicants are contacted by phone for an interview with a
member of the BSW faculty, who will review their application and answer
questions. During the interview, applicants are asked to elaborate on
their application materials. The interview allows the School and the applicant
an opportunity to determine whether or not the BSW degree will best meet
the applicant's career aspirations. Applicants are generally informed
of their admission status by the end of the interview, and receive a confirmation
letter to that effect after the interview.
