BSW Four and Five Year Programs
For Freshmen and Sophomores:

BSW student Steven Binns is interviewed by CBS News about his experiences doing disaster relief work in New Orleans.

Incoming freshmen who meet the university's admissions requirements can earn a BSW degree in four years and an MSW degree in five years. Freshmen and sophomores are encouraged to enroll in SWK1100, SWK2050, SWK2100, and SWK2150 to explore further their interest in social work. Students are also encouraged to declare their intent to "pre-major" in social work by completing the Declaration of Major form in the Advisement Office. Students interested in discussing the social work major can contact Dr. Donette Considine at 630-844-7842.

  • SOC1100 Principles of Sociology
  • PSC2100 U.S. Government
