Spartan Named Northern Athletics Conference Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Student-Athlete of the Week

AURORA, Ill. April 14, 2009 - Aurora University women’s track and field thrower, junior Elissa Decker (Aurora, IL/West Aurora H.S.), was named Northern Athletics Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 11, 2009.

Decker scored all six points for the Spartans in the Chicagoland Championships, finishing seventh in all three events she participated in, including the shot put (11.75m), discus (36.84m), and hammer throw (42.85m).

Next action for the Spartan women's outdoor track and field team comes on Saturday, April 18, 2009, when they travel to the Benedictine University Eagle Invitational. Meet time is set for 9:30 a.m. in Lisle, IL.
