Spartans Named NAC All-Conference

AURORA, Ill. March 4, 2009 - The Northern Athletics Conference announced the 2008-2009 women’s basketball All-Northern Athletics Conference awards. The Aurora University’s women’s basketball team placed one player on the Northern Athletics Conference First-Team All-Conference Team, one Honorable Mention All-Conference selection and one on the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Spartan senior forward Kim Voiles (Garden Prairie, IL/Belvidere H.S.) was named First-Team All-Conference. She averaged a team-high 16.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game this year. She was a 2007-2008 NAC Honorable Mention selection.

Senior guard Meagan Re (Belvidere, IL/Belvidere H.S.) was named Honorable Mention All Conference, while sophomore center Michelle Perry (Maywood, IL/Proviso East H.S.) was named to the All-Sportsmanship team by the NAC women’s basketball coaches.

On the season, Re averaged 11.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.4 steals per game, while Perry averaged 11.1 points and 5.6 rebounds.

AU’s women finished the season 17-10 overall and 13-5 in the NAC.
