January 30, 2009 - The Aurora University women’s basketball program, in conjunction with the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), is proud to sponsor “Pink Zone”, formerly known as “Think Pink” on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at AU’s Thornton Gymnasium. The Spartans will take on Northern Athletics Conference foe Concordia University Chicago at 7:00 p.m.

The WBCA's "Pink Zone" ,started in 2007, initiative is a global, unified effort for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.

Kicking off the event will be American Idol finalist and special guest coach Gina Glocksen performing the national anthem. She will also be available at halftime of the game for a meet and greet with fans.

The Aurora University women’s basketball teams will be warming up in pink shirts and will wear pink shoe laces, socks and arm bands during the game. AU game event personnel will wear pink shirts during the contest. All fans attending the game are encouraged to show their support for the fight against breast cancer by wearing something pink. Additionally, raffles will be held offering pink autographed basketballs, pink T-shirts and much more during the game with all proceeds from the game tickets, donations and raffles benefiting the Fox Valley Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
