Spartan Named Northern Athletics Conference Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week

AURORA, Ill. January 13, 2009 - Aurora University Spartan women’s basketball senior forward Kim Voiles (Garden Prairie, IL/Belvidere H.S.) was named the Northern Athletics Conference Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week.

Voiles averaged a double-double in AU's first action in 2009, going 3-0 on the week. Voiles averaged 23.7 points on 31-of-43 shooting (72-percent) and 10.7 rebounds while also dishing out 3.3 assists per game. In AU's 90-65 win at Benedictine University, she scored 22 points on 10-of-12 shooting from the field and grabbed 13 rebounds. In AU's 74-67 win at Concordia University Chicago, she scored 25 points on 12-of-15 shooting from the field and pulled down 10 rebounds.

Thus far on the season, Voiles is averaging 17.9 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. She is shooting 52.9 percent from the field (81-of-153) and is shooting 67.1 percent from the free-throw line (53-of-79).

Voiles and the Spartan women’s basketball team will host Wisconsin Lutheran College on Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in Thornton Gymnasium.
