Spartan Named Northern Athletics Conference Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week

AURORA, Ill. October 21, 2008 - Aurora University men’s soccer player, senior forward Chase Corricelli (Peoria, IL/Notre Dame HS), was named the Northern Athletics Conference Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 21, 2008, his third time being named to this honor this season.

Corricelli helped AU go unbeaten (3-0) on the week while becoming AU's all-time leading goal scorer -- 55 career goals, surpassing the previous mark of 52 (Hernan Camouzano 1997).

On the week, Corricelli tallied three goals and two assists. In AU's 6-0 win at Rockford, he scored his 53rd and 54th career goals.

On the season, Corricelli has 17 goals, five assists, three game-winning goals and 39 points.

Corricelli and the Spartan men’s soccer team are in action next on Wednesday, October 22, 2008, when they travel to Benedictine University in a Northern Athletics Conference match-up. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in Lisle, IL.
