AU’s McKenzie Named Northern Athletics Conference Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year

AURORA, Ill. October 7, 2008 - Aurora University Spartan women’s tennis Head Coach Mike McKenzie, in his second season at the helm of the AU women’s program, was named the Northern Athletics Conference Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year for the 2008 season.

The women’s tennis team concluded the 2008 season with an overall record of 8-4 and 9-1 in the Northern Athletics Conference and a second place finish at the NAC Championships.

The Spartans had second place finishes from No. 4 singles (Raquel Schmitz), No. 5 singles (Macey Pruett), No. 6 singles (Amanda Walden) and No. 2 doubles (Schmitz and Nelson); third place finish in No. 2 singles (Rebecca Papke) and No. 3 singles (Siri Nelson); fourth place finish in No. 1 singles (Lauren Hastings) and No. 1 doubles (Papke and Hastings); and fifth place finish in No. 3 doubles (Pruett and Courtney Ksioszk).
