Spartan Named Northern Athletics Conference Football Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week

AURORA, Ill. October 7, 2008 - Aurora University Spartan football player, sophomore quarterback Nate Peterson (Aurora, IL/Aurora Christian) was named the Northern Athletics Conference Football Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 5, 2008.

The week in which the Spartans defeated long-time rival Benedictine University 31-7, Peterson had an exceptional afternoon passing 13-of-24 for 206 yards and three touchdowns. He connected on a 64-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter extending AU's lead to 21-0 over Benedictine University. He also had 62 yards rushing on 10 carries.

On the season, Peterson is 53-of-104 passing for 660 yards, 10 touchdowns and five interceptions. He has a 51.0 percent pass completion percentage and a 126.38 pass efficiency.

Peterson and the Spartan football team are in action next on Saturday, October 11, 2008, when they travel to Maranatha Baptist Bible College in a Northern Athletics Conference match-up. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. in Watertown, WI.
