Spartan Named Northern Athletics Conference Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week

AURORA, Ill. September 16, 2008 - Aurora University men’s soccer player, senior forward Chase Corricelli (Peoria, IL/Notre Dame HS), was named the Northern Athletics Conference Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 14, 2008, his second time being named to this honor this season.

On the week in which the Spartans had a 1-1 record, Corricelli tallied three goals, his 43rd, 44th, and 45th of his career. This puts him second on the all-time scoring list, seven away from tying Hernan Campuzano for the scoring lead.

Corricelli had a hat trick in AU's 6-0 win over Lawrence University. He also added an assist in the win, accounting for points on four of AU's six goals.

Corricelli and the Spartan men’s soccer team are in action next on Thursday, September 18, 2008, when they travel to Principia College in a non-conference match-up. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m. in Elsah, IL.
