AU’s Kibiersza Competes at NCAA Championships

AURORA, Ill. May 27, 2008 - Aurora University men’s track and field thrower, sophomore Adrian Kibiersza (DesPlaines, IL/Maine West H.S.) qualified for the 2008 NCAA Division III Track and Field Outdoor National Championships for the second consecutive season.

The championships were held Thursday through Saturday, May 22-24, at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with Kibiersza competing at the national meet in both the discus and the shot put.

In the discus on Thursday, May 22, Kibiersza finished ninth out of 16 qualifying competitors with a throw of 49.22 meters (161’6”) in the finals. He reached the finals of the discus after making a throw of 48.53 meters (159’2”) in the first round. His throw of 49.22m in the finals broke his own AU record.

In the shot put on Saturday, May 24, he finished 10th out of 16 qualifying competitors with a throw 15.45 meters (50’8-1/4”).
