Spartan Named NAC Softball Student-Athlete of the Week

AURORA, Ill. April 16, 2008 - Aurora University women’s softball sophomore pitcher Anna Snyder (Grayslake, IL/Grayslake H.S.), was named Northern Athletics Conference Softball Student-Athlete of the Week.

Snyder was dominant in the circle for the Spartans on the week, factoring in three of the four AU victories, recording two wins and a save. In AU's doubleheader sweep of Concordia University Chicago, Snyder won game one (2-0) on a complete game shutout, striking out 17 and allowing only two hits. She then came on in game two (5-0 AU win) to pitch the final two innings for the save, striking out three and allowing no hits.

On the season, Snyder is 10-3 with three saves, a 2.21 earned run average and 95 strikeouts in 73-1/3 innings pitched.

Next action for the Spartan softball team comes on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, when they host Wisconsin Lutheran College for a Northern Athletics Conference doubleheader. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. at the Stuart Sports Complex in Aurora, IL.
