Spartans Named NAC All-Conference

AURORA, Ill. March 5, 2008 - The Northern Athletics Conference announced the 2007-2008 women’s basketball All-Northern Athletics Conference awards. The Aurora University’s women’s basketball team placed two players on the Northern Athletics Conference Honorable Mention All-Conference Team and one on the All-Rookie Team.

Junior guard Meagan Re (Belvidere, IL/Belvidere H.S.) and junior forward Kim Voiles (Garden Prairie, IL/Belvidere H.S.) were named Honorable Mention All Conference, while freshman center Michelle Perry (Maywood, IL/Proviso East H.S.) was named to the All-Rookie team by the NAC women’s basketball coaches.

On the season in conference action, Re averaged 10.5 points and 4.6 rebounds, Voiles averaged a team leading 11.9 points and 8.1 rebounds and Perry averaged 10.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

On the season, Voiles led AU averaging 11.3 points, 8.0 rebounds per game and shot 47.1 percent (112-238) from the field with Re adding 10.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.52 steals per game, while Perry chipped in 9.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and shot 51.9 percent (98-189) from the field.

AU’s women finished the season 13-13 overall and 11-7 in the NAC.
