Spartan Named Northern Athletics Conference Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week
AURORA, Ill. February 19, 2008 - Aurora University men’s basketball junior guard Chad Trudo (Yorkville, IL/Yorkville HS), was named the Northern Athletics Conference Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week.
On the week in which Trudo helped lead the Spartans to a 3-0 week that included clinching the 2007-2008 Northern Athletics Conference Championship, he averaged 15.3 points while shooting 54.5 percent (12-of-22) from the field, 57.1 percent (8-of-14) from three-point range, 93.3 percent (14-of-15) from the free-throw line and 6.0 rebounds.
In AU's 98-89 win at Concordia University Wisconsin, Trudo had 23 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field, 4-of-6 from three-point range and was 9-of-10 from the free-throw line. Additionally he had five rebounds and three steals. In AU's 101-71 win over Concordia University Chicago, Trudo had 17 points on 5-of-7 shooting, including 2-of-3 from three-point range and 5-of-5 from the free-throw line while grabbing 5 rebounds and 2 steals.
On the year, Trudo is averaging 10.4 points while shooting 40.5 percent from the field, 4.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.
Trudo and the Spartan men are in action next on Saturday, February 23, 2008, when they host Lakeland College on Senior and Alumni Day. Game time is set for 4:15 p.m. in Thornton Gymnasium. The Spartan men are currently 19-5 on the season and 15-2 in the NAC.
