The win pushes AU’s overall record to 4-4, while their Northern Athletics Conference record goes to 3-0. Meanwhile, Benedictine falls to 2-6 and 1-3 in the NAC.
The first half was a fast paced one, with both teams running their offenses well. None the less, the competitive half ended with the Spartans leading 32-30.
The second half witnessed more competitive play, as Benedictine continued to pressure AU and challenge their lead with a competitive scoring balance. Benedictine had four scorers in double digits as Megan Walczak (12 points), Tiffany Hardy (12 points), Tamika Curtis (13 points), and Monica Krozel (11 points) combined for 48 points.
