Northern Athletics Conference Announces Postseason Volleyball Awards

AURORA, Ill. November 5, 2007 - The Aurora University Spartan women’s volleyball team had two players named to the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) All-Conference teams following the 2007 season.

AU’s junior middle hitter Andrea Buss (Oswego, IL/Oswego H.S.) and sophomore outside hitter Jill Smart (Round Lake Beach, IL/Grayslake H.S.) were selected to the NAC All-Conference Second-Team.

On the season, Buss averaged 2.57 kills and 0.79 blocks per game, while Smart averaged 3.54 kills per game with a .249 kill percentage

Buss was named to two all-tournament teams, Benedictine University Invitational and the North Central College Invitational, while Smart was named to the AU Jim Coleman Classic All-Tournament team.

The Spartans finished the 2007 season with a 10-21 overall record and were 4-8 in Northern Athletics Conference play.
