Spartan Named Northern Athletics Conference Women’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week

AURORA, Ill. October 30, 2007 - Aurora University women’s soccer player, sophomore goalkeeper Jenny Jarvis (Naperville, IL/Naperville Central HS) was named the Northern Athletics Conference Women’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 28, 2007. The award is Jarvis’ second this season.

On the week, Jarvis went 2-0 for AU and earned her 10th and 11th shutouts of the season, which tie an AU single season record previously held by Alicia Martin in 2002.

In AU's 1-0 win over Edgewood College to clinch the 2007 Northern Athletics Conference Championship, Jarvis had two saves. She then posted one save in AU's 4-0 win over Concordia University Chicago. With her scoreless week, Jarvis extended her current shutout streak to 383.00 minutes, which spans four plus games.

Thus far on the season, Jarvis has a 16-2-1 record, 11 shutouts, 56 saves and a 0.68 goals against average. In her last 16 games, all AU victories, Jarvis has allowed only five goals. The Spartan women are 17-2-1 and finished 12-0 in the Northern Athletics Conference.

Jarvis and the Spartan women’s soccer team are in action on Thursday, November 1, 2007, when they host the semi-final round of the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m. on AU Field with the opponent yet to be determined.
