Spartan Named Northern Athletics Conference Women’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week

AURORA, Ill. October 16, 2007 - Aurora University women’s soccer player, sophomore goalkeeper Jenny Jarvis (Naperville, IL/Naperville Central HS) was named the Northern Athletics Conference Women’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 14, 2007.

On the week, Jarvis picked up her sixth and seventh shutouts of the season in back to back 1-0 victories over Dominican University and nationally ranked College of St. Benedict. The Spartans 3-0 week, strongly aided by Jarvis' stellar play in net, extends their current win streak to 12 games. On the week, Jarvis had 19 saves in 20 tries and lowered her goals against average to 0.87.

Thus far on the season, Jarvis has a 12-2-1 record, seven shutouts, 53 saves and the previously mentioned 0.87 goals against average.

Jarvis and the Spartan women’s soccer team are in action next, today, Tuesday, October 16, 2007, when they travel to Alverno College with game time set for 4:00 p.m. in Milwaukee, WI and then again on Thursday, October 18, 2007, when they host North Park University. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. on AU Field.
