USTFCCCA Announces Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Academic Honors

AURORA, Ill. August 21, 2007 - The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its 2007 academic honors recipients and the Aurora University men’s and women’s track and field teams both were among the NCAA Division III track and field institutions whose team grade point averages finished above a 3.000 cumulative.

The Spartan women finished with the eighth highest cumulative grade point average with a 3.475 while their male counterparts finished with a 3.111 cumulative grade point average, which ranked 25th among all men’s track and field teams.

To qualify for the team awards, the team must carry a minimum 3.000 cumulative GPA. As for the individual award, the individual must have a cumulative 3.25 GPA or better and obtain an NCAA automatic or provisional qualifying mark for the most recent outdoor championships in their respective event.
