Spartan Named NAC Softball Student-Athlete of the Week

AURORA, Ill. April 4, 2007 - Aurora University women’s softball junior thirdbaseman Dana Cebular (Brookfield, IL/Riverside-Brookfield H.S.), was named Northern Athletics Conference Softball Student-Athlete of the Week.

Cebular led AU on the week in which they went 4-2 overall and 2-0 in NAC play. On the week, Cebular hit .609 (14-for-23) with one home run, one triple, one double, eight runs scored and four runs batted in. She had a .913 slugging and .640 on-base percentage. In AU's doubleheader sweep of Edgewood College, Cebular was 4-for-7 with a home run, triple, four runs scored and three runs batted in.

On the season, Cebular is hitting .559 (33-for-59) with six home runs, six doubles, one triple, 26 runs scored and 17 runs batted in. She has a 1.000 slugging and .594 on-base percentage.

Next action for the Spartan softball team comes on Friday, April 6, 2007, when they host Rockford College in a NAC doubleheader. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. at the Stuart Sports Complex in Aurora, IL.
