AU’s Guise Named All-American
AURORA, Ill. March 28, 2007 - Aurora University Spartan women’s basketball standout Naomi Guise has been selected to another women’s basketball All-American team. One week after becoming the first AU women’s basketball player to be named a D3hoops.com All-American in the 10 seasons of the teams being named, Guise was named a Honorable Mention All-American by Women’s DIII News.
The senior guard from Springfield, IL, and Southeast High School was named Honorable Mention All-American. Both of her post season All-American recognitions have been as a Honorable Mention selection. On the season, Guise led AU by averaging 23.2 points, 7.2 rebounds per game and shot 48.1 percent (247-513) from the field.
Guise entered the AU women’s basketball record books in her senior season at AU. She joined the illustrious 1,000-point club this season while also scoring 603 points, setting a single-season mark for points scored in a season. On her career, Guise finished with 1,010 points.
In her two seasons at AU, Guise was named Northern Athletics Conference (2006-2007) and Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference (2005-2006) First-Team All-Conference in addition to her All-Region and both All-American honors this season.
AU’s women finished the season 17-9 overall and 14-5 in the NAC.
