Spartans Named NAC All-Conference

AURORA, Ill. March 12, 2007 - The Aurora University’s women’s basketball team placed two players on the Northern Athletics Conference First-Team All-Conference Team.

Senior guards Naomi Guise (Springfield, IL/Southeast HS) and Beth Plucinski (Vernon Hills, IL/Vernon Hills HS) were named First-Team All Conference by the NAC women’s basketball coaches. On the season in conference action, Guise averaged 22.0 points and 6.9 rebounds, while Plucinski averaged 11.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.06 assists per game.

On the season, Guise led AU by averaging 23.2 points, 7.2 rebounds per game and shot 48.1 percent (247-513) from the field with Plucinski chipping in 11.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.

Both Guise and Plucinski entered the AU women’s basketball record books in their senior seasons at AU. Both players joined the illustrious 1,000-point club this season with Guise also scoring 603 points this year which sets a single season mark for points scored in a season.

AU’s women finished the season 17-9 overall and 14-5 in the NAC.
