Spartan Named to D3hoops.com Team of the Week

AURORA, Ill. February 22, 2007 - Aurora University Spartan women’s basketball senior guard Naomi Guise (Springfield, IL/Southeast HS) was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week following her performance the week ending February 18, 2007.

Guise led the Spartans (17-8; 14-5 NAC) to a 3-0 week by averaging 25.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and six steals per game. She had 26 points, seven rebounds, and six steals in a 22-point win over Maranatha Baptist, while shooting 13-of-16 from the floor. Guise followed that up with 26 points, eight steals and six boards in a 57-44 win against Rockford College.

On the season, Guise is averaging 23.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.76 steals per game. She is the current single season record holder for points in a season with 582. With 989 career points she is 11 points shy of entering the AU 1,000-point club.

Next action for Guise and the Spartan women’s basketball team comes on Thursday, February 22, 2007, when they host Benedictine University in the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in Thornton Gymnasium.
