Spartan Named Conference Student-Athlete of the Week

AURORA, Ill. February 14, 2007 - Aurora University men’s track and field thrower, sophomore Tom Sroka (Justice, IL/Argo H.S.), was named Northern Athletics Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 11, 2007.

Competing in the indoor portion of the Spartans schedule, Sroka broke his own school record in the shot put with a throw of 15.39m (50'6") at the Dick Pond Invitational hosted by Lewis University. He was only six inches shy of a provisional qualifying mark.

Next action for the Spartan men's track and field team comes on Saturday, February 17, 2007, when they travel to the Chicagoland Indoor Championships. Meet time is set for 11:00 a.m. in Chicago, IL.
