Spartan Named Northern Athletics Conference Men’s Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week

AURORA, Ill. October 11, 2006 - Aurora University men’s cross country runner, junior Matt Baker (Dixon, IL/Dixon H.S.) was named Northern Athletics Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 9, 2006. The award is Baker’s third of the season.

Baker continued to pace the Spartan runners, finishing in fifth place at the Benedictine University Invitational with a time of 26:59.2 in the 8K race. Aurora finished 6th out of 18 teams.

The next action for Baker and the men’s cross country team comes on Saturday, October 14, 2006, when they travel to the Jim Drews-Tony Neubuaer Invitational at the University of Wisconsin – LaCrosse. Meet time is set for noon in West Salem, WI.
