Spartans Rack Up Another NAC Victory

AURORA, Ill. October 10, 2006 - The Aurora University women’s volleyball team jumped out early again on Tuesday night and defeated Wisconsin Lutheran in consecutive games. The win gives the Spartans six in a row, including four Northern Athletics Conference victories.

Aurora started out hot and cruised to a 30-18 win in game one. Game two proved to be more difficult as both teams exchanged points at the end for what seemed to be an eternity. Trailing 26-18 the Spartans had a furious rally and managed to pull out a 37-35 victory. Riding off of that momentum, AU took game three by a score of 30-25.

Aurora was led by senior Lindsey Gruber, who had 11 kills and 15 digs. Sarah Campbell also played well, finishing with 14 kills and 12 digs. Amanda Hills had 25 assists and Sara Stark had 20 digs.

The Spartans return to action on Thursday, October 12 as the travel to Maranatha Baptist College for another NAC match up.
