Northern Athletics Conference women's golf awards announced

AURORA, Ill. October 9, 2006 - The Northern Athletics Conference has just released the All-Northern Athletics Conference awards for the 2006 women's golf season. The 2006 All-Northern Athletics Conference Women's Golf Team includes the top ten golfers, based on their performances in this fall's NAC sanctioned events.

Nicole Gluzinski, a senior at Edgewood College, was named player of the year. Gluzinski won medalist honors at all five conference sanctioned events, and at this weekend's 2006 Northern Athletics Conference Championship.

Wisconsin Lutheran College's Abbie Lecy was named rookie of the year. Lecy had two runner-up finishes and one third place finish at NAC sanctioned events this season. Lecy also finished third at the 2006 Northern Athletics Conference Championship.

Second-year coach Chad Johanson was named coach of the year, leading Aurora University to the inaugural Northern Athletics Conference women's golf championship. The Spartans also won the Wisconsin Lutheran College Invitational in mid-September.
