Spartan Named Northern Athletics Conference Women’s Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week

AURORA, Ill. September 27, 2006 - Aurora University women’s cross country runner, senior Fran Sikorski (Lombard, IL/Driscoll Catholic) was named Northern Athletics Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 24, 2006, her second straight week receiving the conference honor.

Sikorski recorded a 38th-place finish and was the top NAC runner at the Augustana College Brissman-Lundeen Invitational last Friday. Sikorski finished with a time of 23:34, beating the AU school record she set one week previous. In doing so, she led the Spartans to a 17th-place finish in the 33 team 6K run.

The next action for Sikorski and the women’s cross country team comes on Saturday, September 30, 2006, when they travel to the Warrior Invitational at Wisconsin Lutheran College Meet time is set for 11:00 a.m. in West Allis, WI.
