Spartans Are Victorious in NAC Home Opener

AURORA, Ill. September 20, 2006 - The Aurora University women's volleyball team got off to a hot start and kept up the pace en route to a 3-0 victory over Northern Athletics Conference foe Dominican University. The win marked the home opener for the Spartans in the newly formed NAC.

Senior Sarah Campbell led the way for the Spartans with 10 kills and senior Lindsey Gruber contributed nine kills. On defense, the Spartans were paced by Campbell, once again, who had 15 digs; and Sara Stark with 14 digs. Many other contributors helped the Spartans with a solid all around effort which led to the commanding victory.

The Spartans return to action on September 26th as they travel to Lisle to take on another conference rival, Benedictine University. Game time is at 7:00 p.m.
