Spartan Named Northern Athletics Conference Women’s Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week

AURORA, Ill. September 19, 2006 - Aurora University women’s cross country runner, senior Fran Sikorski (Lombard, IL/Driscoll Catholic) was named Northern Athletics Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 17, 2006.

Sikorski recorded an eighth place finish and was the top NAC runner at the Aurora University Spartan Classic last Friday. Sikorski finished with a time of 24:26 and led the Spartans to a fourth-place finish in the 10 team 6K run. She set an Aurora University school record in the 5K.

The next action for Sikorski and the women’s cross country team comes on Friday, September 22, 2006, when they travel to the Brissman Lundeen Invitational at Augustana College. Meet time is set for 5:00 p.m. in Rock Island, IL.
