Spartan Named Northern Athletics Conference Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week

AURORA, Ill. September 19, 2006 - Aurora University men’s soccer midfielder, junior Marshall Reed (Otsego, MI/Otsego H.S.) was named Northern Athletics Conference Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 17, 2006.

Reed led the Spartans (5-0-2, 2-0 NAC) to a pair of conference victories last week scoring three goals and assisting on two others, including the game-winners in both NAC contests. In Aurora's 2-1 overtime win over Concordia University-WI, Reed tallied the go-ahead goal with 4:02 left to play in the extra period. In a 7-2 victory over Marian College, Reed tallied two goals and two assists, including a goal on a penalty kick.

On the season, Reed has three goals and three assists. The three assists lead the Spartans and his three goals are third best on the season.

The next action for Reed and the men’s soccer team comes on Wednesday, September 20, 2006, when they host Wheaton College. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. on AU Field.
