Spartan Named Northern Athletics Conference Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week

AURORA, Ill. September 12, 2006 - Aurora University men’s soccer midfielder, senior captain Alex DeGurian (Naperville, IL/Neuqua Valley H.S.) was named Northern Athletics Conference Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 10, 2006.

Adding to his NAC Athlete of the Week award, DeGurian was named the Most outstanding offensive player at the Centre College Tournament last weekend. He scored three goals, including both goals in the Spartans 2-2 double overtime draw with UW-Whitewater. The Spartans remain undefeated with a 3-0-2 record. On the year, DeGurian has four goals and one assist.

The next action for DeGurian and the men’s soccer team comes on Wednesday, September 13, 2006, when they travel to Marian College for a Northern Athletics Conference opener. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m. in Fond Du Lac, WI.
