Emergency Preparedness
The safety and security needs of the Aurora University campus are addressed by the Office of Campus Safety. The entire campus is involved in the prevention of threatening situations as defined in the University Safety Plan. Through periodic updates on potential threats, trends and issues of concern, faculty, staff and students work together to keep the campus community safe. Beginning with the premise of respect for all individuals, potential threats are taken seriously and assessed by the Vice President for Student Life and the Emergency Preparedness Team.
Prevention policies include building evacuation and lock-down plans, a campus-wide alert system, and emergency-preparedness training. The university works closely with the local police and fire departments in response to all emergency situations.
