DeSpain Promoted to Vice President for Enrollment

AURORA, Ill. — Donna DeSpain of Naperville has been promoted to vice president for enrollment at Aurora University.

DeSpain served as dean of Adult and Graduate Studies and as a faculty member in the College of Education at AU since 2004. Prior to joining AU, she was the dean of University College at Benedictine University, where she also taught in the mathematics department. 

Her responsibilities include overseeing enrollment activities for traditional, transfer, graduate and adult students, and student financial aid at AU's campuses in Illinois and Wisconsin.

AU President Rebecca L. Sherrick said, "Aurora University is extremely fortunate to have the expertise and administrative experience of Donna DeSpain for enrollment management operations. She has compiled an impressive record as dean of adult and graduate studies at AU. We look forward to her making even more significant contributions in her new position," Sherrick said.

DeSpain earned a Doctor of Education degree in leadership in curriculum and instruction in 2006 from AU. She earned bachelor's and master's degrees in mathematics at Purdue University.

DeSpain serves on the board of directors for the Illinois Council of Continuing Higher Education and on the Our Lady of Tepeyac school board in Little Village. She regularly contributes articles to The Nontraditional Student Report and has published numerous instructor resource materials in the field of developmental mathematics through Addison-Wesley.
