Aurora University to Host Flu Vaccination Clinic Oct. 29

AURORA, Ill. — Aurora University's Wellness Center will host vaccinations for seasonal flu, pneumonia, meningitis, and a booster for tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, in Thornton Gymnasium in Alumni Hall, 1410 Marseillaise Place in Aurora.

The public is invited. Registered nurses from the Visiting Nurses Association of Fox Valley will administer vaccinations.

Fees range from $20 to $100; costs vary according to the immunization requested.

Shots will be provided for anyone age 9 or older who passes the screening process for any contraindications, with the exception of the tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis vaccine.

Women in their second or third trimester of pregnancy must also bring a physician's note to receive a flu shot.

Seasonal flu shots are $20 each, payable by cash, check or Medicare B cards; pneumonia vaccinations are $35 each, by cash, check or Medicare B cards; a diphtheria, tetanus, acellular pertussis booster is $45, by cash or check only; and a meningitis vaccination is $100, by cash or check.

Medicare HMOs, Managed Care plan and insurance will not be accepted.
