Kim Hermann, from Watertown, WI, was presented with a special pin by Bill Duncan, vice president and chief academic officer of GWC. Hermann completed her Master of Social Work and was among 127 students in the 2008-09 Aurora University graduating class.

WILLIAMS BAY, Wis. - Graduating students gathered with family and friends at the third annual recognition ceremony honoring 2008-2009 graduates of George Williams College of Aurora University, on Saturday, May 2 at 3:00 p.m. in The Ferro Pavilion on the campus located in Williams Bay, WI. More than 350 people attended. Proceedings began with a musical prelude, followed by an academic processional with faculty and students. William Duncan, vice president and chief academic officer, welcomed students and guests.

"It was a wonderful occasion and an honor to recognize these undergraduate and graduate students who received their respective degrees in business, communication, nursing, social work, recreation administration and education," said Duncan. "We know these students are poised for success in their chosen careers."

Formal graduation ceremonies were held on the Aurora campus on Sunday, May 10.

Dr. Rebecca L. Sherrick, president of Aurora University, formally greeted students and guests, and spoke about the rich history of George Williams College. Remarks followed from students Jessica Warner from Ingleside, IL and a native of Australia, who received her Bachelor of Science in Recreation Administration and Rachel Dunn from Janesville, WI who received her Master of Social Work. Kim Hermann, from Watertown, WI, who received her Master of Social Work, was honored with a student award for academic excellence and her strong involvement in activities supporting her fellow students and GWC.

To further commemorate this special occasion, students received their George Williams College pins during the ceremony. Christine Flasch, executive director of Music by the Lake and director of the Aurora University Chorale, led the singing of the George Williams College alma mater. Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Michael Moser gave the closing benediction.

A reception for graduates and guests followed the program on the Allyn Plaza.
