George Williams College to Host Walworth Literacy Council Benefit April 30
4/23/2009
WILLIAMS BAY, Wis. — George Williams College of Aurora University will host a benefit luncheon for the Walworth County Literacy Council on Thursday, April 30, at noon in the Beasley Campus Center on campus at 350 Constance Blvd. in Williams Bay.
Brigette Kutschma, council coordinator, will discuss the organization’s newest community literature program--bringing literacy to inmates in local jails. Andrea Francis, a volunteer in the jail program, will comment on her experiences in the program.
The council seeks community support to maintain and expand its efforts to spread literacy throughout local communities. The minimum luncheon donation of $15 will support those efforts.
Proceeds will finance operating expenses, including textbooks, supplies and the coordinator’s position.
Advance reservations are required. The deadline for reservations is noon Monday (April 27). For reservations or information, contact Dianna Woss; dwoss@aurora.edu or Gail Zeiman; gzieman@aurora.edu.
