Cwidak Named To Association for Challenge Course Technology Board of Directors

WILLIAMS BAY, Wis. - Gary Cwidak, associate director of the Outdoor Wisconsin Leadership Synergy (OWLS) program at George Williams College of Aurora University in Williams Bay, Wis., has been named to the board of directors of the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT).

OWLS trains more than 3,000 students annually. GWC is a leading provider of challenge course adventure education experiences in the Midwest.

Cwidak is the first practitioner to join challenge course vendors on the ACCT board. ACCT is the leading challenge course industry group.

ACCT recently implemented a national standard for certifying challenge course facilitators. The trade group is developing American National Standards Institute (ANSI) guidelines.  These are used by the federal government as industry construction/operation standards for challenge courses.

An experienced challenge course administrator, Cwidak is expected to apply his experience to help develop new standards.

"It is an honor to be selected to the board of ACCT," said Cwidak, "As a challenge course facilitator, safety and education are my main concerns. "Through my work with ACCT, I hope to help establish rigorous challenge course standards within the industry that will protect the health and welfare of all participants nationwide."
