Jeanine Clark Bremer

Jeanine Clark Bremer is a proud alumna (1996) from Aurora University with a BA in Political Science. She obtained her MA in Ancient History from Northern Illinois University and is currently ABD in Environmental History at NIU with an expected completion date in 2008. She is the recipient of the Thomas C. Wiegele Interdisciplinary Dissertation Completion Award for 2007 and also serves as an editor for H-Florida, which is part of the H-Net network. Jeanine currently teaches for Aurora University in History, Political Science, and Social and Behavioral Sciences. Her interests include SCUBA diving, wildlife rehabilitation, and travel.


John Mehrtens

John Mehrtens earned his PhD in Political Science from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill (in 2004), as well as an MA from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and a BA from UC Santa Barbara. He was raised as an Army brat and has been fortunate enough to visit 40 US states and 20 foreign countries, but he has spent much more time in Irvine, California than anywhere else, so that is where he is from. John has a wide variety of teaching interests, but primarily focuses his research on comparative studies involving the US and other advanced capitalist democracies, with an emphasis on social issues (poverty, socioeconomic policy, immigration, etc), public opinion, and foreign policy. In his spare time, John enjoys music, movies, sports, travel, scuba diving, cooking, and pampering his two children, four dogs & collection of triggerfish.
