About the Alpha Beta
Epsilon Chapter:
In fall 2003 a number of local educators worked together to
charter a chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society
for Education and Allied Professions. The Alpha Beta Epsilon
membership includes AU professors, Education students (undergraduate
and graduate), area K-12 teachers and school administrators.
The chapter supports literacy projects and has collected several
hundred children’s books for donations to area schools.
Please visit the KDP web site at www.kdp.org for
a detailed explanation of the Society’s goals and mission.
For members, there are thousands of dollars of awards available
to undergraduate and graduate students each year, and small grants
for classroom teachers.
National level membership includes such noteworthy individuals
as John Goodlad, Nel Noddings, Linda Darling-Hammond, Michael
Fullan, Deborah Meier, and Alfie Kohn. John Dewey was a member.
