Spanish Language Course for Educators Offered by George Williams College of Aurora University

WILLIAMS BAY, Wis. — If you’re an educator and the most significant Spanish you know involves your favorite menu items only, it might be time to learn some beginning Spanish. George Williams College of Aurora University is now offering “Spanish for the Educator – Level 1,” a Spanish class designed for teachers with no Spanish experience, who want to learn basic communication skills.

Classes will be held at Delavan-Darien High School, located at 150 Cummings St., Delavan, WI. They will meet from 4-8 p.m. for eight Wednesdays; Feb. 13—March 19 and April 9 and 16. 

The class instructor is Alejandro Furio, who has been teaching Spanish to educators for more than five years.  Upon completion of the course, participants will receive three credit hours of graduate professional development. The cost is $675.

 “With the growing Hispanic population throughout our school systems,” says Linda Olbinski, dean of the School of Professional Studies at George Williams College, “these classes are a necessary aid in helping teachers to be able to communicate with their Spanish speaking students.”
