Motorcycle CEO visits George Williams College
WILLIAMS BAY, Wis., Dec. 10, 2007 —Though motorcycles and sportbikes may seem a strange topic for discussion at George Williams College of Aurora University, the Nov. 29 evening fireside chat with Erik Buell, the founder and CEO of Buell Motorcycles, brought home the meaning of passion and determination in the world of business.
Hosted by David Frost, assistant professor of business at GWC, Buell offered a presentation filled with personal insight and humor on the trials and tribulations of this local entrepreneurial enterprise, located in East Troy, Wis. His company’s success, according to Buell, is a story of American innovation triumphing over low-cost overseas manufacturing.
“I believe that the evening’s standing room only attendance is a clear indication that the community has an interest in this type of offering,” said Frost. “It was exciting to see a great presentation by Erik Buell, as well as the wonderful exchange of questions and ideas between Buell and attendees.”
This event is the first in a series of business speakers the campus plans to bring to the community.
