Local Residents Become First MBA Graduates At George Williams College

Williams Bay, Wis., June 1, 2007 — Local residents made history in May when they became the first Master of Business Administration students to graduate from George Williams College of Aurora University at Williams Bay.

AU held the 114th annual commencement ceremonies at its Aurora, Ill. campus May 5 for about 1,100 students. About 100 students were honored at an April 28 reception for GWC degree candidates in Allyn Pavilion for the Performing Arts. William Duncan, GWC vice president and chief academic officer, presided at the reception and presented a recognition pin to each prospective graduate.

Inaugural GWC MBA graduates were Eric R. Aschenbrener, Charles A. Thiesenhusen and Tobie N. Watts, residents of Delavan, Wis.; Ivan Davidov, Williams Bay, Wis.; Paul M. Thompson, East Troy, Wis.; and Dixie L. Turner, Elkhorn.

AU’s School of Professional Studies offers two options for students wishing to enroll in MBA classes at GWC in Williams Bay. They include an MBA in Leadership, which offers classes one evening weekly in eight-week modules; and a graduate certificate in leadership, which is also offered weekly during the evening for non-degree-seeking students.

Linda Olbinski, dean of the School of Professional Studies at GWC, said AU MBA programs are designed for professionals who need convenience and flexibility. For information, call (262) 245-8564 or e-mail gwcmba@aurora.edu.
