George Williams College Opening March 31

Williams Bay, Wis., March 29, 2007 — The golf course of George Williams College at Aurora
University, 350 Constance Blvd. in Williams Bay, opens its 105th season on Saturday, March 31.


The public is invited to play the 18-hole course. A season-opening celebration with free refreshments will be held during the day Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1. Course hours are dawn to dusk seven days a week. Daily and season rates are available for adults, seniors (age 65 and better), and juniors (under age 18). Season memberships are $405 for adults, $335 for seniors, and $135 fo
juniors.


Daily rates are $18.50 weekdays for adults, $16.50 for seniors and $10 for juniors with weekend and twilight rates. Gas-powered carts, pull carts, and bags of clubs are available for rental. The course features watered tees, greens and fairways; and a clubhouse with equipment and refreshments for purchase. Instruction is also available. Tee-time reservations are required Friday through Monday and holidays. The public, par 67, 5,066-yard family course has a 102 slope and 63.4 rating.

Chuck Thiesenhusen, course manager and GWC director of campus recreation, said, "This course is challenging for the average golfer but not overwhelming for the beginner. Scenic beauty is a feature of the course, with the front nine overlooking Yerkes Observatory."

"The course is very walkable and will give golfers a good workout and a wonderful view."
