George Williams College Appoints ProfessorWilliams Bay, Wis., November 18, 2006 — George Williams College of Aurora University in Williams Bay has named Charles Zastrow, Ph.D., of Fitchburg, Wis., assistant director and professor of social work. Linda Olbinski, GWC dean of the School of Professional Studies said, We are very excited about the addition of Dr. Chuck Zastrow to George Williams College. His experience with accreditation, numerous publications, and his work as a practitioner in a variety of public and private social work settings will be of great value to our MSW program. Zastrows teaching interests include clinical social work, marriage and family, and helping processes (psychotherapy, casework, and group work). Zastrow came to GWC from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where he had served since 1971. Under his leadership as program coordinator and then social work chair, the UW-Whitewater social work program gained departmental status and accreditation. He was recognized with the University Research Award in 1993 and the Roseman Award, the universitys highest teaching honor, in 1987. From 2003 to this year, Zastrow chaired the Council on Social Work Educations Commission on Educational Policy. He authored five textbooks that have been reprinted in multiple editions and more than 40 professional journal articles, reports, book chapters and reviews, and instructors manuals. Zastrow earned Ph.D., masters, and bachelors degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. |
